Problem with ATI SBx00 (ALC892) on AMD desktop

After some time away from hackintoshing, I got ML (10.8.4) installed on an AMD desktop using Pandora.app and the ML kernel for AMD. The problem is I can't get audio working. The mobo is ASUS M5A88-V EVO running Phenom II CPU. Mobo chipset is AMD 880G.

So I noticed this mobo actually has two audio devices, but they show up differently depending on whether I'm running Windows (7) or ML (using DPCIManager).

As far as I can tell, the ATI HDMI Audio is:

Windows 7 - Vendor: 1002, DeviceID: 791A

ML - Vendor: 1002, DeviceID: 970F

The HDAudio Controller (which is what I'm trying to use) shows up as:

Windows 7 - Vendor: 10EC, DeviceID: 0892

ML - Vendor: 1002, DeviceID: 4383

I'm pretty sure the 0x10024383 audio device in DPCIManager is the ALC 892, as it shares the same Sub Device ID (0x1043841B). But DPCIManager doesn't list a Codec ID, Revision, or Codec Name for it. Also, there is no entry for Device (HDEF) in the DSDT at all, even under a different name.

Is it possible to get this codec working under ML on this mobo?

EDIT: Okay. I found the device in the DSDT. Looks like it's named SBAZ, and it was at a different address than what I was expecting. I renamed it to HDEF and patched it to inject layout ID 1. But this is as far as I've gotten now.

Okay. So, I had tried VoodooHDA 2.8.2 to no avail. But it looks like installing VoodooHDA 2.8.4 from this link (you have to click Download and then scroll down to the 2.8.4 that's not for Lion):

http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/file/1194-voodoohda-286-pkg-installer/

gives me sound, sort of. It's garbled, but it's better than nothing. It'll do for now.

I did have to select the correct device from the Voodoo Preference Panel, and then select the correct output in the Sound control panel. But I'm happy just to have something coming out of the speakers.
