Neso
I did it with two different HDDs but same capacity. One seagate 500Gb and one maxtor 500Gb. It's been working for me, for more than a year now. Double the transfer, one big disk. I use it for VIDEO/AUDIO files for video editing. Only once there was some data coruption but it was because of my overclocking attempts. The RAID was fine and working even trough 10.8 to 10.9 upgrade, and hardware swap. From i5-2500k and p67 to xeon X5670 and asus rapamage III gene. Still working. Data coruption i have mention was fixed with disk warrior in no time. I am satisfied with it.

Neso
Sry, didn't see the AMD sub forum, but it should work the same. Did a lot of reading before making the stripe, but other solution have there own algorithms, so was afraid about different OS X version, but this one just works. mrjayviper
thinking about it now, I didn't use extra KEXTs to get SATA working. So hopefully, that support is provided in an Apple-provided KEXT instead of the kernel. lol
