Allan
The most probable answer is OS X beta, is full of bugs.

Allan
Per hour not yet liked this new OS X. I hope that when you leave the final version I change my mind.
JBud
Have you installed the update for it? What is your software id? (About this mac-> click on "Version" where it says Version 10.10) Mine is 14A261i. if yours isn't this number, you need to use software update. Dark mode only works after the update. JBud
It has to do with altering the system profiler app, and a plist or two, I'll write up a guide specific to Yosemite later and post a link here when I do.

PGHammer21B
The issue is, apparently, unique to either DP1 or DP2 - "dark mode" works properly in DP3 (which I am running). Also, "dark mode" can now be set from Desktop settings as of DP3. The most probable answer is OS X beta, is full of bugs.
ergot
thanks, the dark mode in DP3 looks bad anyway...ill stick with normal look...
