I have installed OS X 10.9 on my machine when first it was launched, been 7-8 months already and I never bothered to update. So how do I update from 10.9 to 10.9.3?

My machine is Dell XPS L501x. Let me know if I need to provide any more info

Thank you!

Upper left corner -> Software Update

Wow, I did not know it is that simple. I downloaded the update from apple site, so I guess, I can install it manually

but what about kexts? do I have to reinstall them?

For me maverick is the great Operating system for mac but i have lots of problem updating mavs. but anyway i will be stick for maverick 10.9 because i really like the graphics & the design of mavs, i hope steve jobs still alive to enhance the concept of OSX 10.10 because he is the brain & mentor of Apple success.

Depends on.

For my software configuration I did not reinstall anything. Just update.

About sound: VoodooHDA+AppleHDADisabler

Graphics: patch by Clover on the fly.

Ethernet: RealtekR1000 which remains to be independent on the system.

Sorry for Noob question, why use AppleHDADisabler?

anyway this is what I have planned. Take back up of kexts, install the update and if anything seems not working then install that particular kext.. how does that sound?
