How to boot to the installer using clover

Follow this to make your bootable USB: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298402-os-x-yosemite-dps-builds/page-4?do=findComment&comment=2024254

  • Put FakeSMC.kext inside /System/Library/Extensions
  • Under Clover option write this boot arg:

  • kext-dev-mode=1 -s
  • Go back in drive selection and select your USB, push enter
  • Once you are in single user mod type

  • /sbin/fsck -fy

    then

  • /sbin/mount -uw /

    then

  • cd /System/Library/Extentions

    then
    chmod -R 755 FakeSMC.kext

    then
    chown -R root:wheel FakeSMC.kext

    then

  • kextload -v FakeSMC.kext

    then

  • exit

You should normally see the install screen

PS: I'll improve the guide late, i'm ultra tired

Ok all that worked

Could not be installed on this computer undefined error 0

I am running into this same error.  I can boot into the installer just fine via Clover (booted from my main Mavericks drive), but when the install starts, it dumps out the same message.

This actualy worked for me , now am runing the installer ,

Do i need same steps when i want to boot from HDD ?!

You are able to boot, huh.  What is your SMBIOS settings in Clover?  I am using iMac14,2 now as a test, and previously (with Mavericks) MacPro6,1 both not working to install (though does boot the installer)

Thanks.  I am also typing this from Yosemite - found the problem I was having (forgot to copy BaseSystem.chunklist and BaseSystem.dmg into the USB root), and the install went without a problem.  Only had to add FakeSMC and everything seems to be working well. (still need to add a kext for audio, but my wifi, video, and everything else are functioning).

I am really digging the new design..  Looks quite elegant.
