is it possible to install Yosemite DP in VM ?

Yes, without taking any special steps, it is possible. However, performance is terrible and no QE/CI (as is always the case with visualised OSX). It's good for a first look, but much better to do a real install...

Installing in VMware Fusion 6 (hackintosh) now... it's gotten to the installer and seems to be doing it's job. Will let you know the end result as soon as it finishes.

how did you do that ?

thanks

osx vm are always osx vm,

no qe.ci is really the worst unsupported thing, most apps would not work at all and animations will be super slow and full of glitches,

it's useful just to create an installation pen if you don't have access to real mac or hack.

:2cents:

but it's always fun to install and test

@memomo: I had the exact same problem and spent a long time trying to understand what was going on. Turns out what fixed the problem was simply updating vmware from 6.0.1 to the latest version, 6.0.3, as simple as that.

Let me know if it did it !

Installed Yosemite Public Beta 2 (14A329r) in workstation 10.0.3, and it works fine - including sound with "hdaudio" and display with VMwareGfx.kext (from Fusion 7).  The sound is choppy, but that's the way it's always been.

Performance is kind of slow compared to Mavericks in VMware VM.

PS cpu is Intel i5-3470.
