bptba93
Is there anyway to update the processor in my laptop? It curently has a Intel Celeron M 360 1.4 GHZ in it. I don't know what kind of socket the processor uses. Is there a program that would tell me this info? Edit:Nevermind CPU-Z told me. It's a socket 479. Metrogirl
Generally, swapping out a Celeron for a full processor will work. Bear in mind that the system board/BIOS combination might not recognise a different/faster processor properly- Thinkpads are renowned for this problem, not sure about Toshiba. A-Series Thinkpads won't run faster than the fastest processor for which the range was manufactured, so people swapping them out find they work, but not as fast as expected. Many laptop BIOS configuration pages don't give you many options for setting speeds either. Get the most recent BIOS update first, and compare the date with the sorts of processor available at the time.
