I'm wondering if there is any performance difference between doing a raid0 in osx with 4x7200 2gb drives plugged into motherboard marvel sata3 controller vs the highpoint 2720sgl. There is no CPU or ram on the 2720sgl but I'm not sure if I even need it. I'll only be doing raid0 and may go to 6-8 7200rpm drives tops. Or possibly 4 SSD's in a raid0. The other option is spending 4x more for a highpoint 3620. My goal is to be able to do real time editing of 4k raw video. Looking to get 800mb/s performance. Here are the rest of my specs: Computer Specs CPU: i7 4390k 3.5@4.4ghz RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz Mobo: GA-x79-UP4 GPU1: Nvidia gigabyte windforce GTX780 3gb VRAM. GPU2: Nvidia Evga gtx780 6gb VRAM Hard Drive Array: 4x2gb 7200rpm software RAID0 System and Scratch Drive: 2x 512 ssd’s, not raided Case Fans:9 Power Supply: Evga p1000watt Thanks!
