Hey guys, I'm having a really hard time choosing a second GPU to replace a really weak gtx650ti. I'm running a hackintosh right now, video editing 4k footage. Here are my current specs.

Computer Specs

CPU: i7 4390k 3.5@4.4ghz

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz

Mobo: GA-x79-UP4

GPU1: Nvidia gigabyte windforce GTX780

GPU2: Nvidia GTX650ti boost

Hard Drive Array: 4x2gb 7200rpm software RAID0

System and Scratch Drive: 2x 512 ssd’s, not raided

Case Fans:9

Power Supply: Evga p1000watt

The gtx780's at the price in the $500's really look sweet. I already have a 780 so it sounds acceptable having another one, it is a great card. So the question is...which one. The zotac amp! looks fast but I've never heard of them. The MSI lightening is my second pick. Or maybe a matching gigabyte windforce.....

The other option would be to spend $200 extra bucks and get a gtx780ti....not sure if the performance boost I will get from it will even matter though for video editing. I would be willing to spend the money if it mattered. And again, which one!? There are so many to choose from.

I think the 690 and Titan are out of my price range right now.

Anyways, I know there are a lot of these topics that are out there already but they are all older. I'm really hoping someone can give me an easy answer.

No ati recommendations please...already have a gtx, need to keep it in the family for potential sli config.

Thank you very much.

Joe.

Be careful with them, mine is an EVGA GTX 780 Ti SuperClocked, And So, far I was not able to get it working on 10.9 - any versions with any versions of nVidia Web Driver.

Which ever model you like. EVGA cards have the best coolers (Non Reference Cards) and OCing ability.

Works fine with the web driver. Tested here and works.

I have trouble with two monitors on the 780 ti. I use web driver and running 10.9.3 but only one monitor is active.

Any idea? My rig is a GA-X79-UP4, eVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Super Clocked ACX, Intel Core i7 4960X / 3.6 GHz

I can't figure out why not two monitors

Any help would be very very nice!

Use the 10.9.1 retail drivers and report back.

Thanks for your reply. But do you mean NVIDIA web-driver or Apple drivers?

I know with the OSX drivers i have black screen so I need Web-drivers to get in OS.

i've found that the Asus DirectCUII 780 works perfectly with both apple and nvidia web drivers,

its a bit cheaper than the others

and btw i suggest you to get another 780,

780+780ti, is not a good idea, these cards works better if they are identical, even better if you get exactly the same that you have right now (thats almost a must if you wanna get a good SLI config).

Good Hack and Cheers!
