viomusicstudio
Hi! I want to buy a new video card, now I have gts250 that work like a charm on 10.8.5 out of the box. I have to choose from 650 or 750gtx. Is any of these 2 cards compatible out of the box, full runing on macosx?
Gringo Vermelho
750 GTX is Maxwell architecture, I don't think that's supported yet. The 650 will work but it's not very fast. There is no way that it will work on 10.8.5 though... sorry, Kepler cards started working in 10.8.3.
viomusicstudio
Which video card is better than gts450 (I have one too) and compatible with macosx out of the box without errors?

viomusicstudio
Frio, did you try new games on that card? How better is it? I know 750gtx is much better, but it seems that is no way to make it work in macosx.
haxzion
750 is not supported yet (i think) so better go for 650 - 650 ti - 650 ti boost or 660.
Gringo Vermelho
Which video card is better than gts450 (I have one too) and compatible with macosx out of the box without errors? I have a GTX 660 working perfectly in 10.9.3. It's the vanilla version from EVGA. I haven't done anything to make it work, it just does. I believe a little extra work is required if you need HDMI audio. I'm sure there's a 7xx card available at a better value for money ratio by now. Gringo Vermelho
If it's for Mac gaming then the 650 will do fine, unless your display is larger than 1920x1080. Here's a list of game demos for Mac on Steam and elsewhere: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1429761 I don't know what would be a good game to test, probably very few games for Mac will give any modern GPU trouble. If anyone can help get better resoultion than 1024 * 768 with workaround or something, please let me know! Thanks!
