I tried everything possible, on my 1080p monitor, but i don't really like the way the fonts look like. I googled a lot of forums, about. But still no result. Could you advice me, please ? Nobody15000 Posted July 5, 2014 Share Posted July 5, 2014 They will look the same unless you enable HiDPI mode which basically makes everything look bigger without loss in resolution. If so, you will see a very clear difference between 1080p and QHD which will look like a "retina" display. If you don't enable HiDPI, then you will have more space to work with. Since the dell is a little smaller, it will have sharper detail with a higher resolution aswell. And the IPS display will have better and more accurate colors opposed to the VA display on the BenQ. The dell also has a wider color space which won't be too useful 99.9% of the time unless you like oversaturated colors. I would recommend the dell overall. There is a 4K 28 inch panel that was made however, as of now, all the 28 inch 4K displays are the same TN panel. You can enable HiDPI and have clear fonts but I recommend you don't but those panels, there is more to displays than resolution. TN LCD panels usually suffer in contrast and color accuracy. IPS displays will give you a more vibrant and accurate color with deeper black levels. TN Panels do have better response time for gaming but if your looking for quality, I advise you stay away from those. I advise you buy the dell or some other 30 inch 1600p IPS panel with wide gamut turned off unless you need to use it for photo editing. However, it is slightly more expensive then the dell if you are willing to pay the extra money. It also has extremely light anti-glare coating, it could be considered as a "glossy" display as opposed to the dell which has pretty high anti glare coating. It has more 1 million more pixels for more detail and sharper fonts then the dell but it is a very wide monitor if you think you would be fine with the very wide aspect ratio. TN panels have much less color accuracy and contrast compared to IPS panels. You can buy the 4K displays if you don't mind the reduced color range and lower contrast. But if you care for color accuracy and contrast or whatever, I recommend you get the 34 inch LG monitor. I think the 10.9.3 update did bring much more native support for 4K Displays. At 200% the icon will be doubled in vertical and horizontal resolution being 128x128 pixels.
