Quasso Posted May 12, 2014 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Hello everyone, would really quite like a definitive answer on whether it's possible and has been successfully achieved to use an R9 290 graphics card in a hackintosh setup, and whether there are likely to be any issues with it if so. I've searched around and found some resources on here and elsewhere, but there were lots of conflicting answers as to whether it's possible and I'm not sure what to believe, it's quite important because I need the latest OS X on my desktop and currently have an HD 6950, which unfortunately is stuck using 10.8.x. So my upgrade is largely to do with compatibility for Hackintosh. Gaming extras are a bonus of course. FYI the card I'm hoping to get is: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 Windforce OC editionIf anyone has any experience specifically to this card that'd be great. I'm no stranger to hacking or workarounds, I had to make a lot for the 6950 to work right with the prior version of OS X.
