tastyfrog
I have a TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 in my hackintosh. It work pretty well out of the box. However, I am getting some weird issues with it. After about half an hour of using my computer, my connection dies. I'm still connected to the network, but no packets are going through. Turning wifi off and then on fixes the problem for around another half an hour. It seems to fail faster if I use the connection more. Streaming videos takes it down to 10 minutes before I have to reset it. This issue also manifests itself on windows. I saw some other threads mentioning something similar. The recommend fix was to switch the pci slot of the wifi card. I've tried this with no effect. Does anyone have an idea what the issue is? I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks.
theconnactic
I have the same card and it used to behave well with my Gygabyte H77/Core i5 rig. I moved a couple of days ago to an ASUS Z97 Gryphon/Core i7 and since then, I have the a similar issue: constant disconnections even as the connection is still reported as active in the menu bar. Have someone ever solved this issue? All the best! P.S.: no console messages giving any clue about the error.
theconnactic
Tried some fixes suggested here http://osxdaily.com/2012/11/30/resolving-stubborn-wi-fi-connection-problems-in-mac-os-x/ to no avail. Still working to solve this. Keep everyone posted.
theconnactic
Reverted to the original MTU settings, since the fixes I made didn't work as intended - the connection still drops while it's reported as still active.
theconnactic
Well, it's solved absolutely by itself - none of my fixes worked, but since today, the connection is stable as it can be. Perhaps, it was my router or even my ISP: who knows? All the best!
