When I try to login to iMessage I get an error

"Your Apple ID "xxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com" can't be used to set up iMessage at this time.

If this is a new Apple ID, you do not need to create another one. To use this Apple ID with iMessage, contact iMessage support with the code below.

Customer Code: 3139-7429-4188"

This is a new issue, Apple recently (sometime in April) changed their security protocol with iMessage servers (most likely due to heartbleed), that now checks your UUID, SystemId and Software serial number for validity, there is quite a lot of chatter in other forums about this, I myself have been struggling with it.

keep digging, the simple fixes most likely wont work.
