Using -x with un*beast or myHack, I am getting to the install menu. Disk utility shows only USB drive. No HD. It's a SATA. AHCI enabled in A17 Dell Bios for Optiplex 755.

What would be your first reflex?

Same issue. Dell Inspiron 530, AHCI enabled.

Dell seems like they have their own issues with OS X. Quite Frustrating.

@Cyberderf: I'd try and boot with the well-known patched IOATAFamily kext that had definitions for many ICHx controllers. AHCI HDD mode does not necessarily fix detection issues.

@dcai777: Inspiron 530 is very much like the Vostro 200 and there is no problem either with HDD RAID mode with standard BIOS 1.0.16 or AHCI HDD mode with modded BIOS from bios-mods.com.
