Custom Kernel/ISO for install using elementary/Ubuntu/Linux

Hi, I'm new to the hackintosh scene.  I'm running elementary as my primary OS on all my computers.  So windows is completely not possible -- It was a new years resolution.

I'm trying to modify an ISO of mavericks.  I have an AMD A10 APU on an ASUS laptop with integrated graphics (I'm aware integrated doesn't work on mac os x) and an HD 8670M dedicated card.

I've scoured the web and have run into some issues trying to add a custom kernel with no luck.  Is there a simple way to modify an ISO to include a different mach_kernel only.

Oh, and to make matters even more tricky, I'm trying to install to a virtualbox, and the current version has USB support broken.  So I really need to JUST have a modified ISO.

I know... an uphill battle.  Maybe someone can help.
