Mavericks + Sabretooth P67 w/ALC892 No Audio

Hi everyone, this is my first hackintosh so forgive me if the answer is obvious.

I Installed Mavericks and all went well with a few hiccups easily resolved, but I have no audio.

I've tried the correct ALC892 kexts both with and without DSDT, and ALL of the generic drivers - nothing works.

Each time I install the correct driver I get this message:

"The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update."

A few posts discovered via google have thus far not resolved the issue and end with the same error message.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove VoodooHDA. 

 

What BIOS version are you on?

I'm on the most recent version: Sabertooth P67 BIOS 3602

 

Could you point me to a how to on removing VoodooHDA - I haven't had to do such a thing before.

You need a older BIOS version. The latest BIOS messed up audio as Asus broke it. 

 

The kext would be in:

 

System/Libraries/Extensions

I've removed the file and successfully installed the correct kexts, but no joy.

 

A downgrade is going to be tricky, the reason for the upgrade was SSD support.

 

Any other way around this?
