Graphics problem on some apps, Mavericks

Need help here as I don't know what category the problem is and don't know where to look for solution.

 

I'd got 10.9.1 up and running ok, but for some applications (especially iphone simulator, that's what I need), the screen is just with blue stripes.  One other app I found with the same problem is the built-in Chess game.  

 

 

What could be the problem?

 

 

AMD 955 Gigabytes board running on Virtualbox, ATI 4850 graphics card, Win7 base.

Got another 10.6 OS running ok with xcode 3.x in the same VirtualBox.
