nyolc8 Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 Same thing happening in a few weeks: Macintosh HD getting "invalid thread numbers" in disk utility and it says it can't be repaired. It makes OSX unbootable, but I can see all my files on the osx hdd in MacDrive from Windows. I tried to repair even from single user mode, tried multiple fsck commands but nothing helps. So I'll need to reformat AGAIN by the same problem in just a few weeks... I noticed that in the past weeks Windows always making a folder called "System Volume Information" on the Macintosh HD's root. If I delete that folder, it always getting recreated when I start Windows. I just wondering... is it possible that this somehow f*cks up the filesystem table on the Macintosh HD? aphex6b Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 Windows 8 has a feature called "Fast startup" or "Hybrid boot" or something along the lines what makes the windows boot process faster, unfortunately, when in a multi boot env, this corrupts ext filesystems, look under power options in win 8 for configuring it. angelol Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 I had the same problem with hfs+ from paragon.. I narrowed it to the point that i know that the problem will occur when you try to paste or create a file in an hfs drive from windows. If u delete something you wont have any problems... Like aphex6b said, it's probably the boot process' fault. Best thing to do to avoid reinstallations is to uninstall macdrive or any similar software. And now it happened two times in just a few weeks. Since 8.1, windows always creating that "system volume information" folder by itself on the hfs partition... Dr. Hurt Posted April 26, 2014 Share Posted April 26, 2014 I had corruption issues and BSODs with both MacDrive and Paragon a while ago with Windows 7. I'm now using Windows 8.1 x64 with Paragon HFS+ 10.2 (apparently newer than the one I used before), and I haven't had any corruption so far. I'll post here if anything happens.
