Pimentel
Hello  Welcome!DSDT isn't god to solve everything... you need know about this...DSDT is good to adjust somethings, but currently ins't much necessary if you have a compatible hardware.  I believe that you already installed OSX(retail installation i think), so try configure it:  Power management Speed Step: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/295587-power-management-for-sandyivy-bridgehaswell-cpus/?do=findComment&comment=1994724  I never used HD4600 or adjust it brightness, but you need see in forum how adjust them!  Good Luck!

vusun123
Unzip the two files to the Extra folder, open Chameleon Wizard go to org.chameleon.boot, check DSDT then type this in the blank box: /Extra/DSDT.aml . Don't rename the SSDT-1 file, I got it to work with your CPU's SSDT.aml Alien.zip
vusun123
Okay so pgonzo told me that brightness is okay now, let's continue with nvidia optimus disabling. Here's the SSDT I need you to test. Unzip both to Extra, overwrite if you are prompted so then do a reboot, go to System Report > Graphics to see if you have the same result as I do ( mine is 3000, yours should show 4600 ) Alien_SSDT.zip

vusun123
Ah I found out that the GTX 765M works in OS X, but will require you to turn off the Intel HD though. My tester got it to work perfectly using Clover

scy0846
I am trying to get my Alienware 17 to run 10.9.5. I have installed Niresh Mavericks, but it will not allow me to update. Have you been able to update with the way you have yours set up and did you use Niresh or something else to get it to work? I really need to set this up for work. My Macbook keeps having a kernel panic because the GPU is going bad. The Computer is only two years old! I refuse to buy another Macbook or fix it when I have a perfectly good Alienware 17. Please Help if you can.
