OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 to dev

Just finished building a new hack last night.

• GA-z87n-wifi

• 4670K

• GTX 660oc

• 10.9.3 (13D43)

• iMac 14,2 smbios

• Automatic OC to 4.3GHz via the mobo's bios (I'm positive I could set it higher, but I've no need to)

• No other action on my part other than re-using my previous SSD from my old hack and re-installing a new ethernet kext

Looks like speedstepping is working perfectly (or at least nearly perfectly). I see 5 states fairly quickly, and the CPU (finally) sits at 800MHz idle when the lowest (on a 3570K) it would previoulsy idle at was 1.6GHz

yeah you just got me a little confused cause in your script you say:

Known board-id:model combos of configurations with a Haswell processor. :)

Anyways im gonna ask you again piker since i dont think you saw it before.

How is your onboard sound on your haswell hack (if you got one)

Thanks. Note added – why the MacPro6,1 is in that list. And no problem with audio on my Haswell configurations (one with Intel i7-4790).

could you please give me a little more details about your setup?

like  board , bootloader, smbios and sound injection method ?

Im using chameleon + imac14.2 + your hda patcher  + your ssdt gen + custom dsdt and in mavericks i have many issues with my sound.

Essentially, I could only go to 4.3Ghz w/o turning off generate C/P states via Chameleon Wizard. Turning off 'generate C/P states' opens up a whole new world.

Chameleon Wizard Settings + Geekbench Score + Temps -> http://imgur.com/musxv9g,JP8h4QF,BsfX3o3

The max temp is highly unrealistic and unworrying. It is within safe parameters + there are very, very few instances of real world use which would utilize 100% of all 4 cores. If I'm shortening the life of my CPU, I doubt I'll ever notice it because I will have upgraded before that day arrives.

The CPU sits at 800MHz and 30C to 3.5GHz and 34C during typical normal daily usage.

no SSDT/DSDT. This is via native support.

How fast does this translate into real-world terms?

Just for fun, I converted 532MB of Radiohead FLAC tracks (17 of them) into Apple Lossless. It took < 5 seconds. LOL. It actually, almost, took longer to get screen capture ready/select the area than the encode took.

By the time I was done selecting the area, these had all finished -> http://i.imgur.com/5i5FcKp.png

Hey -

Nothing to explain. Everything just worked using ##### + basic settings. Extremely easy/simple. No tricks at all.

I probably just got lucky with my mobo + CPU combinaton.

* 4670K
* GA-Z87N-wifi
* 4.5GHZ
* 1.26 vcore
* everything else on "auto" (bios)
* Hyper 212 EVO
* ambient temps of around 26C
* 2 noctua 120mm fans - one rear, one side
* Zalman Z9+ case
* iMac 14,2 smbios

I should get the same results:

- Mobo Ga-z87x-ud5h

- i7 4770k

- hyper evo 2 fans

- gtx 770 4gb

- ram trident 2400 mhz x 16gb

- SSD vertex 4 and lots of terabyte sata 3 in raid.

I get with 10.9.2, smbios 14,2 and Piker's patch 800-3500-3900 if I touch the mono I get the maximum turbo I put

Wich software do you use to check the stepping? can you post it?

Thanks again!

This software here:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258612-msrdumper/

you can actually leave MSRDumper.kext on your desktop (after you unzip it) and follow the instructions in the first post to make it work.

Sorry. I apparently lost the script, or I am blind, but I have one up (version 0.6) for download/try-out right now. You should see something like this:

Will touch /S*/L*/Extensions and ask to reboot.

Version 0.7 will automatically download and install PlistBuddy – for people without Xcode/Developer tools installed.

Hi Pike,

thanks for the script.

I applied selecting iMac 14.2 and I only get 3 pstates: 800-3500-3900

This is the best for my hardware?

GA-z87x-ud5h

i7 4770k

Thanks again!

After a few days of testing I can say this build finally solved my gfx artifacts I had since 10.9.2 with the window server.

Most people didn't have it and I'm pretty clueless why one would have it and most wouldn't.

With some of the dev builds it got to a point the whole hack would freeze (no kernel panic!) and needed a hard reset.

Strangely, also some iMacs and MacBooks suffered from it and mainly Macs I maintain, the only other cases I heard of were from macrumors.

As soon as .3 final build hits the App Store I'll convert the last few company-critical macs to mav as the 3rd party software has been tested and proven fully working.

 Still not showing up on my computer...

It's not in the sucatalog for the public Beta Seed program. If you check the developer sucatalog it's there.

As I suspected, the public program won't get all the builds developers have access to. Or perhaps they will have to wait until they've been tested by developers.
