Intel D5400XS dual Xeon

Ciao a tutti, so che ormai questa scheda madre ed i suoi processori sono un po' obsoleti, però vorrei insieme a voi riuscire ad installare Macintosh in maniera pulita senza aggiungere troppi kext modificati, sviluppando una tabella DSDT, e che supporti questa configurazione:

Intel D5400XS

Dual Xeon X5450 3Ghz

RAM 8gb (2x4gb) FB-Dimm 667MHz

ATI HD4870x2 2Gb GDDR5

Per il momento sono riuscito ad installare la Iatkos 10.6.3 con aggiornamento alla 10.6.6 impostando questi kext (VooDooHDA - IntelSata Ahci - RTC 32bit - QE/CI exotic patch [ ATI4800Controller.kext preso dal cd Iatkos, l'altro kext invece preso dalla patch per osx 10.6.6 ] - ATI_Init.kext - NullCpuPowerManagement)

Se non erro sn tutti....

Al boot devo dare sempre: arch=i386 GraphicsEnabler=Yes

La scheda video funziona alla max risoluzione però nelle info me la segnala ad (1 - Core).

Più tardi allego il resoconto kernel e l'IOReg.

Chi mi da una mano nell'impresa?

Sarebbe possibile secondo voi installare una versione più aggiornata di OsX? Lion o MountainLion o addirittura Mavericks?

penso che devi solo provare non credo che ci siano problemi

anche perche a me con AMD mavericks mi vede il processore come xeon

quindi crea una partizione e prova

usa Pandora e crea la usb

Hai provato ad avviarlo con arch=x86_64

ho provato ad installare mountain lion tramite pandora.

Per avviare l'installazione ed anche il sistema (una volta installato) devo utilizzare il comando npci=0x3000.

Però ci sono un po' di problemi.

L'audio non viene riconosciuto nativamente, penso bisogna installare il voodooHDA come avevo fatto per snowleopard...

La scheda video non viene riconosciuta neanche utilizzando il GraphicsEnabler=Yes anche se il sistema è partito.

Ho, quindi, scaricato ed installato la patch QE/CI Exotic 10.8.5 ed al riavvio, utilizzando GraphicsEnabler=yes, nelle prime righe di caricamento noto che riconosce la scheda per quella che è, carica il sistema, carica lo sfondo ma non carica il dock e neppure il menu in alto, quindi non mi fa andare avanti.

Noto anche un "kernel extensions backtrace" riguardante il FakeSMC con interessamento dell'IOACPIFamiliy.....

cosa posso fare?

Per la video prova a utilizzare la flag npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes ma devi utilizzare il giusto Framebuffer (la video 4870)

L'audio non viene riconoschito nativamente in nessun caso, ma devi patchare il kext AppleHDA

Fai l'installazione e arriva alla scrivania poi sistemi il tutto

ho seguito il tuo suggerimento e sono riuscito a farlo partire anche se mi sono accorto che il sistema partiva bene anche prima, infatti non inserendo la flag AtiConfig comunque il sistema partiva ma estendeva gli schermi ed io vedevo solo la parte estesa senza la dock....

infatti nelle prime stringhe di caricamento, il framebuffer che caricava di default era il MotMot.

vedo che la ram non viene riconosciuta correttamente.

allego uno screenshot del sistema perchè non riesco comunque a capire se deve funzionare così o no...

Controlla se la barra in alto è trasparente.

Dalla foto vedo che hai rotazione quindi deduco che la scheda sta lavorando bene.

riesco ad intravedere i colori dello sfondo...devo dedurre che qe/ci funzionano.

ho notato che all'avvio (npci=0x2000 o npci=0x3000) sul monitor esce una schermata bianca con degli artefatti prima di caricare correttamente il sistema....

se non hai anche una scheda video integrata

avvia provando a mettere PCIRootUID=0

vedrai le riconosce come 4870

Ho provato ad eliminare la exotic patch ripristinando i kext originali ed a levare il NullCpu, avviando con npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=MotMot GenerateCStates=Yes GeneratePStates=Yes
va in kernel panic con backtrace su AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement e si riavvia subito.

Il PciRootUID lo riconosce a 0 in automatico

Allego frame dal video poichè dopo il kernel panic si riavvia subito.

Utilizzando i kext originali per la Ati, questa non viene riconosciuta; modificando il file Info.plist presente all'interno del kext ATI4800Controller viene riconosciuta ma senza QE e CI abilitati.

Non dipende dal DSDT, ma dal bios; per eliminare NullCPUPowerManagement devi installare AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement patchato

Ho cercato online ma ho trovato solo la patch per l'AppleCPUPowerManagement relativa a sandy bridge e non ad harpertown...se non dovesse esserci rimedio, lascio il NullCpu anche se mi piacerebbe sistemarlo al meglio.

Mi indichereste un metodo/guida sicuro per la risoluzione dei vari problemi? Online ho trovato varie guide ma non so se ben si adattano all'hardware in mio possesso.
