Laberlohe
Hi, the FirePro v4800 is a RV830 based graphics card. HD5670 is quite comparable except of a slightly slower video memory (1800 vs. 2000 MHz). I'd guess the FirePro will work, but will need some help. If using Clover: I read of possibility to mimic a supported card. So you would have to know vendor and device id of HD5670. Else: You will have to add the vendor/device id of your card to the HD5xxx related kexts (in the sections with HD5670 or HD5570). I don't have a graphics card of this generation, so I'm not sure which kexts to edit. But I think iFire can help? Good luck!
zerokool75
Thank you. The vendor ID=68C8 (1002). I have a pic with the information, I just need you tell me which kext I will have to edit. The method I use was the BOOT USB DVD OS X Mavericks AMD V3.pkg v3
Laberlohe
I think you have to add the device id in the following kexts (backup them before editing): - AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext - ATI5000Controller.kext - ATISupport.kext - ATIFramebuffer.kext Do secondary click on the kext and select "Show Content". Open the info.plist with TextEdit (or any other editor) and look for device id "68D8" (this is HD5670). Replace it with your id (68C8). Maybe you will have edit the driver itself. If so open the file inside the "macos"-folder with an hex-editor (e.g. 0xED) and replace like above. Good luck! PS: If you are getting kernel panics/screw up graphics boot with flag "-x" for safe mode...
zerokool75
Thank you for all the information. I could install the Firepro, but when starting up the pc comes the screw up graphics. I can go on just with the -x, when the pc starts Its come with the Grey and only work if I turn on the tv to see what is going on. from there I can switch to the monitor. I dont know what to do to put the graphic card to work directly with the monitor, instead of the TV. I will post some pic maybe you can help me. Thank you for your support. another problem is that I have windows in another HDD, but whe the OS starts bring a massage errror. that the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer. The disk have 3 partition or 4, it is 1 giga.
Laberlohe
I'd guess that OSX chooses a wrong framebuffer. You can assign a different FB with Chameleon and it's org.chameleon.boot.plist, but I don't the names for the framebuffers of that generation... smx
I may be wrong, but that looks a problem with personalities. You can try other personalities with Chameleon Wizard.Otherwise it may need patching.
