Higher Temps on Mavericks - C/P States not working - Speedstep not working (Sabertooth x79 /w i7 3930k)

Hey guys!

After updating to Mavericks I noticed that my temps were higher than usual. Installed HWMonitor and it shows me that my overclocked CPU is now at 4.03 GHZ (in ML i OC'd to 4.5ghz) and it has higher temps than in ML.

I've heard that this has to do with DSDT and SSDT. I attached mine in this thread, is there anything you guys can do?

My board is a Sabertooth x79, with an overclocked i7 3930k (x32 multiplier, blck 126.5) (actually multiplier is higher but mavericks only supports up to x32 multiplier)

Also I have "Generate P states and Generate C states" in my boot plist and it says that it couldn't generate them. Also I get the message that I have unsynchronized tsc for cpu :S

Speedstep doesn't seem to work either, just have 2 states (I have NullCpu installed, without it I get KP).

Any help?

Mavericks runs fine, it's just the messages I get in the beginning and the higher temps that keep worried.

Let me know!
Thanks
Dave

PS: I tried generating my own ssdt and dsdt but I think I didn't suceed. I also attached my generated dsdt/ssdt in this thread. I'm afraid of using them because I get two warnings in ssdtPRGen which are "cpu-type may be set improperly 0x0501 instead of 0x0601" and "system-type may be set improperly 3 instead of 0" - I have no idea how I can make these warnings go away.

I can't afford to loose my machine so I hope you guys can help me!

PPS: I also attached my temperature readings which are at IDLE modes.

PPS2: I also attached my boot.plist and smbios.plist - Maybe they can help too!

Thank you so much!
Dave

PPS3: Here are the messages I receive in the beginning:

QwlLdyt.jpg

Here you can see that it doesn't generate any P or C states.

gAx0YS8.jpg

In this you can see how NullCPUPowerManagement starts working, the processor gets detected by AppleACPICPu but then later it says "Unsynchronized TSC for CPU 1-11" (even though I have voodoTSC for my processor 3930k 6 core)

QZbww1V.jpg

Here you can see that somehow /dev/rdisk2s2 (NO WRITE) that there is a no write error? The rest looks fine to me, what do you think?

0ma9ZTP.jpg

Here you can see that there is some kind of "Sound assertion" in AppleHDAController at line 1303, 581 and 352. What does that mean? Audio works fine but sometimes it crackles. Is there anything I can do?

Also important is to see that AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement seemed to have timed out (probably because of NullCPU?) again, what can I do?

Also it says that it "failed to set c-state demotion data: -1"

After that it boots up fine. Let me know what I can do! I always like to give back to this community and hope that someone will and can help me!

Best
Dave

look if is reading  AppleLPC.kext, if not, you need patched DSDT for it, and install the kext VoodooTSync.kext yo sincronyze the cpu, and of course if NULL is installed this block  the AICPM , then not work Speedstep

Here's my IOReg dump.

As I see it AppleLPC.kext is active and running :S

I tried patching DSDT but I have no idea how to do it, can someone help me do it with the info here in this thread?

The thing is I already have installed VoodoTSync.kext (with IOCPUNumber=11) but it still says unsynchronized :S

If I delete NullCpu than it gives me KP.

I see, I think I need a patched DSDT. But I tried it and it didn't work ( I also attached my DSDT in this thread ) can someone help me?

Best

I just tried using a patched AICPM (http://www.osx86.net/files/file/197-appleintelcpupowermanagement-kext-10-9-dp1/). After deleting NullCpu and installing the patched AICPM it gave me KP on boot.

Also I updated my BIOS and it does have PM native.

Can someone help me make a DSDT for me I can use?

Would be amazing.

Thank you!
Dave
PS: I do have 2 states with NullCPU 1.5ghz and 4.03ghz

Hey iFIRE

Thank you a lot for your support so far! I'm very reluctant to try to flash my bios with this patch, simply because I'm very ignorant and maybe I'll mess up my whole system and I can't really let that happen because I'm working on a big project right now.

Is there no other way? If I do patch my BIOS, do I need to delete NullCpu again and use vanilla AICPM or patched AICPM?

Is there a way that we can do this through DSDT ?

Thanks man really appreciate your help!
Dave
