CaliRobC
Hello, I'm having problems getting bluetooth to work. I bought this: Miccus Home RTX -http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00713RSE0/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_4I bought it as it listed that it works with macs and it is rated well for long range bluetooth which is what I need in my house. Problem is that it doesn't even recognize it. It should be plug and play I thought. I go into system preferences/Network then use a "Built in Serial Port with the confuration set to Bluetooth but have no clue what to do from there. In fact I really don't have much of a clue for any of this. I have a wireless trackpad and key board that I would like to pair to it as well but I read that if I am using it for music that it won't work with other devices. That is fine. I just am trying to get it to work in the simplest sense now, getting it recognized by the computer.... This is my build:Mavericks Z87MX D3H - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116901i7 4770kSSD +HDD16 GB RamNo graphics cardAny and all help is greatly appreciated even if it is suggestions on new bluetooth transmitters if that is what I have to do, so be it, but I'd rather not. Thing was 50 bucks.... Thanks again. -Rob By the way my install was with #####, forgot to mention
Long Cat
It's really hard to say if you would ever be able to use that. It sounds like a relativity specialist Bluetooth transmitter, although you may get lucky. First step is to connect it up and head to About this Mac > More Info... > System Report... and under Hardware click Bluetooth to see if it is being recognised by the system. If you're not getting anywhere, try this: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/09/best-hackintosh-bluetooth-adapters.html Personally I have and can recommend the IOGEAR GBU521 as a great hack-compatible Bluetooth adapter if you just want to connect up your keyboard and trackpad. This one is guaranteed to work for those sorts of things. But as for your music/ transmitter needs, I really can't say. You'd have to research it. Good luck.
