Hi there,

First post so please excuse any omissions or mistakes I make in explaining my problem.

I have a Samsung np550p5c laptop on my hands. I've tried installing Mavericks on it with both Vanilla and #####. In both cases, I was able to enter the installer (by using certain boot flags such as PCIRootUID=1 etc.) and then install the OS on an HFS partition that I created in Disk Utility.

But, in both cases, after the install completed and the bootloader loaded back up, the option to boot the installed OS didn't appear. The only option I could select in the bootloader was to enter the installer again, which is on a bootable USB stick.

Any idea what might cause the installed OS to not show up in the bootloader? What sort of things should I check? Do you need any other info?

Thanks a lot!
