sunset1430
Greetings I am having issues with a Asus Z9PE-D8. I have followed instructions from multiple sources. I have removed all third party items. The system consists of Asus Z9PE-D8 with two Intel Xeon 2660 CPUs. I have an Apple firmware Radeon card from a MacPro. I also have an Nvidia GTX560 Ti around if needed. But both have given me similar issues. I have a serial ATA drive. I have done the usuall troubleshooting npci=0x2000 0x3000 rootID etc. I have tried pretty much everything on chamelon wizard, etc. I always seem to get stuck at PCI Configuration begin or a white screen. I did a Mountain Lion to boot once but only worked with remote desktop. I have installed the OS using a Mac, then run post installer such as pandora on that disk. I have tried pandora ##### etc. I can't seem to find the right combo of settings. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

sunset1430
I can work through this. With mountain lion 10.8.3 I got it to boot with #####. But no video. I could remote desktop into the machine as the system had remote management enabled. I don't remember my settings though. I looked at this thread recently but cannot recreate like he did. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/295055-asus-z9pe-ws-d8-mavericks-working-1091/ Do you guys have any ideas how I should configure for first run. I am little concerned this has to do with the speed stepping tech on the motherboard. -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000 did not work. Stops at PCI configuration begin. then shuts down. before shutdown ACPI: sleep states S3 S4 S5 pci (build 22:16:20 sep 19) , flags 0x600008 pmf64 (44 cpu) 0xfff800000000000 etc If i use onboard VGA it boots al the way to missing bluetooth etc.

sunset1430
How do I replace the kernal? Yeah I can't get Nvidia or ATI to work. I have 10.9.1 running without the modified kernal... I have a working system with 10.9.1 and graphics. no power management doh. I will post my exact info by the end of the day. Now i need to dig in and get everything really working. Ethernet etc.
drnoodle
Ok... you only need the kernel if you use a V2 ivybridge cpu. I dont know how to fix the nvidia card problem either. I can only boot with onboard vga only. If someone knows how to install an ati or nvidia card.... Ok... you only need the kernel if you use a V2 ivybridge cpu.
