hogfan
Hello, I have been working on this for about 2 days now, so now I am posting to hopefully receive some help or suggestions. I am not new to Hackintosh and am currently running Snow Leopard via and older MyHack installation. I have decided to upgrade to Mavericks (fresh install) as it is time....I have skipped Lion & ML. This wonderful Gigabyte MB I have absolutely HATES anything that tries to boot via USB, so that is out the window. I tried the 10.9 Vanilla install Guide via a Flash drive & via and external USB HDD with no luck. Changed every possible BIOS setting around and gave up. So I threw another internal SATA drive I had laying around into the machine and created the OSX Installation disk via MyHack 3.3 on that SATA drive. I reboot my machine, hit F12 and choose to boot from the new MyHack OSX install disk ( using -V switch so I can see what is going on). I see this line: SMC::smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL - fall back to old SMC mode but things keep loading I looks like the boot sequence finishes and then I lose video output to my monitor completely, and that's it. So I did some searching around online thinking this has something to do with the video card. I have an NVIDIA 8400 GS 512MB PCIe card installed that is currently working in SL with via GraphicsEnabler. So I reboot the machine and boot back into the working SL disk. I copy the NVEnabler64.kext from my SL Extras folder over to the Extras folder on the MyHack Install Hard drive and then run MyFix on the Installation drive to update the kext cache, etc. Now when I reboot and boot to the MyHack Installer, the last thing I see before the screen loses video output is the NVEnabler kext appears to be successfully loading. So the question is: How can get video output so I can see the damn installer? I have also tried booting with GraphicsEnabler=No -v with no luck. Does this sound like a video driver issue or is there something more to that SMC::smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL - fall back to old SMC mode line? Machine specs are. MB: Gigabyte P43-ES3G CPU: 1.87 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo RAM: 4 GB 80 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM Graphics: Nvidia 8400 GS PCIe 512 MB Any assistance is extremely appreciated. -hogfan
René_
Remove NVEnabler64.kext and rebuild caches. Then boot with bootflags: GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRoot=1 -f -v And use the DVI port.
hogfan
Ok, thank you for the reply, but I was finally able to get it work by downloading and patching a DSDT for my motherboard on SL. I then created the DSDT.aml file and put it in the Extras folder on the Installation drive. I also removed the NVEnabler64.kext and ran myfix on the drive. Installation completed successfully and Mavericks is up and running with full video resolution and QE. After copying the DSDT.aml file to the Extras folder on my fresh Mavericks installation and rebooting, I now have audio showing up as well in the system profiler. Now I just have to get the Marvell Yukon eth controller working. Looks like I will have to use the older methods to get this working. I was hoping the DSDT would fix that too. Oh well, at least it's up and running for now. I think I should be good as soon as I get network connectivity. Thanks. -hogfan
