wh1sker
Hello, I just installed Mavericks to my custom rig, but It wouldn't take my hd 7950, so I used a spare geforce 8600 gt . My question: How can I install the 7950 on mavericks. What should I do? The systems works flawlessly ( except mac app store) but I want to use my 7950. What do I need to do to make my 7950 work? i5 2500k , f10 bios gigabyte z68x-ud4-b3 , F10 Bios Gigabyte Windforce HD 7950 / Geforce 8600 gt 256 mb 8 GB DDR3 Corsair Mavericks installed on Kingston 120 V300 SSD WD 640 GB HDD ( will install w8 on it) seasonic x600 PSU. iFIRE
first disable your IGPU in the bios, then backup and delete all AppleIntelHD graphics kexts, set GE=No in your boot.plist, repairPermission with KextWizard/reboot
wh1sker
iFire you're and iGod . I can't believe that worked ! Thanks a million A follow-up question, you have any idea how can I get back the Mac App Store functionality ? Mac Store said an error has occured. iCloud doesn't work, it says it can't connect. I have ethernet (en0) @ network prefs Also, I saw I don't have a valid serial number ( I clicked generate with chameleon wizard, but it doesn't give me valid serials) I have my hackintosh customized as a Mac Pro (desktop) 3,1 . iFIRE
the beast option that always work is add a credit card in iTunes account 99,9% works Ethernet en 0, <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string>, a valid serial and Modulo nvram in your extra folder, you can install with Chameleon wizard the nvram iCloud/Facetime/AppStore login errors iMessage/Messages Fix-How To
wh1sker
I tried what you suggested with the nvram but it doesn't work. Also I have 3 gifts cards ( about $35 credit) linked to my account. Also tried the first 3 solutions from your first link. I saw in Network Interfaces.plist that it says I have a mac pro 3.1 . I updated that, I now have an iMac 12,2 ( About this Mac), also it has a valid Serial. Maybe the problem lie in the network interfaces.plist that think isn't updated and it thinks I have the old mac pro3.1? Any way to get around that? iFIRE
I don't think, this can be a problem with caches and permissions, and your problem can be CMOS Reset in your bios, you have patched AppleRTC.kext ? download app Darwin Dumper and make a full report, zip the folder and upload here, and your Extra folder too. wh1sker
So I was away for a day, unplugged the computer, Installed Windows on another partition with the nvidia 8600 gt ( that's starting to die on me) and when I changed gpu's I was surprised to see that it worked. I Can't understand why but I'm happy. My 7950 works like a charm right now.in the meantime I wrote another bios, I hope this one will be ok, although I need a PS2 keyboard so I can update the second bios ( gigabyte has dual bios)
