Can I use more than one ethernet device? (int, ext)

I'm having some problems using an internal and external ethernet device at the same time. The internal is an Intel 82574, while the external is Realtek RTL8169E (PCI-E).

The problem stems from an issue logging into the Mac App store. The Intel works with EthernetBuiltIn, but after the Realtek is installed, the system will crash to a black screen before login (with -v boot option). So EthernetBuiltIn is not compatible with the Realtek.

Is there any way to use both NIC's? After reading this thread, it sounds like it would work with EFI string manipulation. Further complicating this is the need to use GraphicsEnabler. The card is an EVGA GeForce 210 1GB.

Sorry if this is a newbish question, any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks Maniac. I tried editing the DSDT but was not able to do so correctly.

As it turns out anyway, the issue was unrelated to having multiple NIC's. It had something to do with GraphicsEnabler and EthernetBuiltIn both enabled, and how this situation worked with my hardware. Once I was able to do away with GE, so did the problem.
