Ok, I use Clover.

I love it completely

It is the best damn boot loader out there.

I think its good enough that Linux distros should abandon GRUB in favor of Clover.

And, as for the TonyMac program, this is not a thread for support. That boot loader exists and to ignore its large install base would be skewing reality.

Edited to be more specific

I'm a Clover guy.

That booter is most flexible and boots in both legacy and UEFI mode.

Chameleon hands down, been using it since the early versions.

It simply continues to work and it's documented very well (which is important to me).

Tried clover a few times but never got it working quite right.

Maybe in a few months I'll give it a new try when I'm more comfortable with it.

47 votes is not bad. People are probably just too busy with their own issues to stop by and vote in a boot loader poll...

I'm a moderator at VoodooProjects so it would be weird if I wasn't using Chameleon as my primary boot loader.

Chameleon development has slowed down this year due to the departure of some key developers, but it has not been abandoned.
The recent smbios additions by Bungo and Ermac are really cool....but Chameleon has a handful of long standing (although minor) bugs that nobody seems to be interested in looking at.

I'm staying with Chameleon until I require a feature that it doesn't provide.

/EDIT

and now we have BitShoveler on the team as well fixing bugs.. rock'n roll guys

/EDIT

I tried Clover for the first time, it's very impressive! Armed with the Clover wiki and Clover Configurator I didn't have any trouble replicating my Chameleon settings and having it boot my present install from a flash drive. There were no issues that I could find. Still, like I said, at this time I don't need any of the things that Clover does that Chameleon can't do.

Hello

Clover, it's the best, I can do many things only editing my config.plist in Chameleon I would have to install additional kexts, in Clover I only inject them by config.plist ...

I can turn my PC into an Apple Computer with Clover(almost)...

Not to mention that I can make my system updates via AppStore, with Chameleon this isn't possible ...

I'm not trying to belittle the Chameleon, because it was my first bootloader and is very easy to setup and use, but Clover is ... better.

I personally don't care much about a "boot manager" and if it wasn't for injection features I doubt many others would either. I was lucky enough to be around to see and test the development of most. I'm a little old school in thinking support should come from kexts and I've never really had to use many of the options available in our booters. But I've tried every single one of them (some not listed here) expect for osmosis. I voted for Clover because it has the most features and development.

I tried both clover and chameleon. I really like clover functions that make osx running more like on a real mac.

BUT,

Clover hangs on blank screen 10-15sec before bootmenu/osxbootscreen appears. I think this is because clover loads the UEFI emulation layer on top of my old BIOS. Also I can't make boot resolution bigger than stretched 1024x768, tried every fixes, on-the-fly gpu bios patching, and other stuff.

So these two things made me stay on chameleon.

I was chameleon man myself with i5-2500, until i got six core 1366 socket ES CPU. Chameleon didn't work as it should...no turbo, low multi no matter what.Tried with ssdt, no go. For the last time before giving up, i tried clover and never looked back.  :)

IMHO both Clover and Chameleon deserve their place side by side for UEFI and BIOS MOBOs, respectively (notwithstanding the fact that Clover can boot both legacy BIOS and UEFI modes).....I will stay with Chameleon until it no longer provides a feature I need, or until I am forced to get a UEFI MOBO......

BUT my circa 2007 BIOS / DDR2 Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus MOBO still refuses to die..... :)

Old users have a bootloader that works from that time.

Novices uses bootloader that provided by xxxbeast, iatkos etc.

And only expert users with new hackintoshes may choose a bootloader.

I have an old hackintosh and started off with chameleon but chose to move to Clover for its superior featureset and native EFI environment.  An important consideration for many users is dual booting with an existing install of Windows.

For older BIOS based machines that have legacy Windows installed on MBR drives, its often easier to use Chameleon (and depending on the machine, sometimes Clover will have difficulty booting legacy Windows).  On my laptop, I reinstalled Windows in UEFI mode so that I could use Clover :).

For newer machines with UEFI firmware and UEFI Windows on GPT formatted drives, its a no brainer decision to use Clover.
