Keny Hu
Mine is the DVD version of iWork 09'. Update options do appear in App Store, but when clicking update, it tells me "This update is for an app downloaded with a different Apple ID. Sign in with that Apple ID and try again." Does anyone experience the same issue?

Keny Hu
I have the sane issue, not found a solution yet I solved the issue by install Maverisks in VMWare Fusion (it's pretty fast fortunately) and then upgrade iWork and Aperture from there without any issue. After that, the applications are listed in the "purchased" page of App Store. You can then install them on your real system.
ApexDE
@ kenny Your Solution worked for Pages, Numbers and iPhoto, but not for iMovie, as it requires OpenCL Acceleration. This seems to be a bootloader problem again, like with the iMessage problems. Is there a better solution to fix it on the real system, not via VMWare? macdav
@ApexDE I believe you are correct in that this is a boot loader related issue, I'm using Chameleon (2266). I just read a report in another thread that Clover users don't have the issue.
ApexDE
Correct. I made a USB Stick with Clover Bootloader and updating my iLife Apps just worked fine. I am thinking of switching to Clover, i had iMessage problems a while ago which were related to Chameleon too and were fixed by using Clover. Time to move to Clover i think
existation
Clover is the best! But have problems with iWork and iLife. None wants to update.
nyolc8
Same error message here, using chameleon... Edit: Created a clover usb stick, booted with that, and everything updated immediately.
pc/osxnoob
Clover worked for me too, I was using chimera before. I only had an old trial version of iWorks installed and for some reason it let me update them to the full new version.
nyolc8
I wish chameleon would get that feature which enables these kind of things... (iMessage and this) Clover injects some system id which isn't get injected with chameleon.... I hope this get's fixed in chameleon someday... pmcnano
Hello, Exactly which guide did you used to make the clover usb. I dont know what the hell, I recall doing it before (a year ago or so) but now it just wont boot. I get to the bootloader, but when I choose my hard drive i get some errors and then it boots to chameleon. Which package did you use? Thanks
The Edge3000
This issue is caused by lack of working NVRAM support. I don't use chameleon, but apparently there are ways to enable this. In clover for my motherboard, I had to install the EmuVariableUefi-64.efi driver to get proper NVRAM support.

MacNB
I too have that the same problem updating iWork and Aperture.Clover method worked. Then I created latest Clover USB boot Flash (not sure what I was doing to be honest to create this as Clover setup is a black-art for me and I have done quite a few hacks !). Eventually managed to boot my Dell 530 into 10.9 using Clover (trick was to copy my working DSDT.aml to /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder on the USB).Started App Store, clicked update on Pages; it prompted me to login with my AppleID and then the App store appeared to hang - that is, Update button was greyed out and there was not download profess bar. Few minutes later, I noticed that the LaunchPad icon in the Dock was bouncing indicating that update had completed. But the App Store remained in a semi-hung state. That is, I could go back to main screen but clicking on the Update tab did nothing. I rebooted using clover again.Started App Store and this time it showed that Pages indeed had being updated and said that Numbers, Keynote and Aperture was waiting.I clicked Update for Numbers and same behaviour as before (as for Pages) but it did do the update. I quit App Store and started it again. This time, I clicked Update All button and this time it showed download progress base for Keynote & Aperture (two remaining updates). All the updates succeeded With the latest Clover, App Store is behaving strangely though. I am gonna try iLife next - I have the original DVD. UPDATE: I just booted using the default boot loader on the HDD (Chimera) instead of the Clover USB boot loader. Now the App Store shows that I have updated the four Apps (Pages, Numbers, Keynote & Aperture) in the last 30 days but it also show that three of them (pages, Numbers & Keynote) are available for update ..huh ?!! So...I clicked on Update All...and it updated the three and now the App Store shows DUPLICATE Apps in the Updated Section. Something weird going on now.....

There is something wrong with Chameleon, either with the SMBIOS injector or the nvram module. I hope its fixed soon.
nyolc8
Maybe AppStore getting confused because it basically runs on two different machines (one with board id when using clover, and one without it when using chimera/chameleon).

So...I clicked on Update All...and it updated the three and now the App Store shows DUPLICATE Apps in the Updated Section. Something weird going on now..... I have an idea (I didn't tested, just an idea) to fix this: First, boot with chameleon and remove the new updated apps (now only one of each app should be in the "updated in last 30 days" section), then boot with clover too, and go to the appstore and now the another apps should be dissapear too from the "updated in last 30 days" section. Then boot with chamaleon and install the apps again. And to prevent this in the future, when you boot with clover, use CustomUUID and use the UUID which chameleon generates. Then I think this double problem wouldn't appear again.
Dr. Hurt
And to prevent this in the future, when you boot with clover, use CustomUUID and use the UUID which chameleon generates. Then I think this double problem wouldn't appear again. I don't think its related to UUID because Clover by default has the "inject system id" option enabled which generates and injects the same UUID as Chameleon. The problem in this case is probably related to different SMserial number (because it has changed when I booted with Clover).
nyolc8
Look at this: The number described above can be injected differently and transformed by the OS into another ID. The aim is to provide an option for Chameleon users to replicate their UUID. Set to <true/> and change CustomUUID to match the UUID used with Chameleon found in registry at IODeviceTree:/efi/platform>system-id. Profiler will show a different UUID that will match the one generated with Chameleon. Source: http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/SystemParameters#InjectSystemID I think without CustomUUID, clover generates a different UUID than chameleon. But the serial number differency will cause it too. But you can change it as well to the same, and you can fix the duplicates by removing the apps, and then boot with clover too to get appstore updated udner clover, and then reinstall the apps when you booted with chameleon. pmcnano
Well since oddly clover woudnt boot from my volume (its detected as legacy OS, not OSX..idk wtf), anyway, I luckily was repairing some macbooks at home, I made an extra user in one, started the update process logging in with my account, cancelled the update (so my client update with his ID) and now I was able to update in my machine.
