Zenith432
I compared the Packages folder from the AppStore free download to the one in GM2, and they're identical. Don't have BaseSystem.dmg anymore, but it's dated Oct 17 like the rest of the files. So looks like 13A603 is the release in AppStore.

Zenith432
I was referring to BaseSystem.dmg on GM2. It did have one, but I made installation media, and then deleted it... BuXb
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction neat. A few questions though: this completely substitutes basesystem.dmg? Creating an install media via this command vs. via basesystem.dmg does not have any disadvantages/ nothing is missing? the install media is bootable? does 'Install OS X Mavericks.app' HAVE to be copied to /Applications, or can it also be run from ANY location (Desktop, or even another volume)? The meaning of the string 'applicationpath' in only the hind part of the command is unclear to me .. does it have to be replaced with wherever 'Install OS X Mavericks.app' is run from? Then however both occurrences of /Applications/ would not make sense in this string .. Can I only upgrade the running OS, or can the latest 13A603 'Install OS X Mavericks.app' from the App Store also install to a DIFFERENT volume when launched in ML? Thanks for clarifications, Bugs PS: those who have both, GM 13A598 AND GM2 13A603 on their HDD: would you please md5 or sfv the two basesystem.dmg files and share if they are the same, or not? Or at least share the md5 or sfv of the one you have on your HDD?

joe75
Bugs, that command is creating the installer the same as if you ran the .app from desktop. It would be bootable from a mac or an efi boot like clover, osmosis or xpc. The command assumes the default locations, modify as needed.
BuXb
GM v1 MD5: 279dca9e1c21de0c373cf2130184b789 GM v2 MD5: 19a73879bf7fff4070d18beed07016d9 do those md5 refer to basesystem.dmg? Bugs, that command is creating the installer the same as if you ran the .app from desktop. It would be bootable from a mac or an efi boot like clover, osmosis or xpc. The command assumes the default locations, modify as needed. I did not know that by running 'Install OS X Mavericks.app' from lets say the Desktop it can create an INSTALLER. I thought Install OS X Mavericks.app can only INSTALL 10.9 .. ..and --applicationpath is an INTERNAL parameter the createinstallmedia script uses and may NOT be modified? Edited October 23, 2013 by fantomas1 yes, those md5 refer to basesystem.dmg as you asked
