sunnyimran
Hi I am experimenting MAC OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (Guest) on a windows 7 x64 Host using VMware workstation 10. Installed vanilla successfully. Also installed VMware tools for Fusion v 6.0.1 ( Darwin ) Now that following updates have been released: MAC OS X 10.8.5 combo OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 Supplemental Update Q. What should be the order to install these updates and VMware tools? Is it like this OK ? Vmware Tools Combo update Suppli or do I need to install combo update, suppli, right after MAC OS X installation and then vmware tools? I have created snapshots in VMware at stages, right after installation, then after installing vmware tools. please suggest

PippoX0
No matter in which order you install osx updates and VMWare tools. VMWare tools are not overwritten by osx updates because the kexts are different. Just for your info ... I installed VMWare tools before to updates to mavericks 10.9.1 and i did not have to reinstall VM tools. See Ya
