Looks compatible. Not sure about the wired LAN but the AR9285 will function, although it looks like you'll have to jump through a few hoops, only a few of them on fire.

I don't know if there is an AppleHDA patch for your audio, if not it'll probably work with VoodooHDA.

You need to find out exactly what model the Intel on-board video is. Only a few are fully supported.

See near the bottom where it says "DSMOS has arrived"?  This indicates that you are booted but your graphics are a problem and you can't see the Desktop.

Try booting with boot flag -x

If that doesn't work, you will need to backup and then remove all of the AppleIntel graphics kexts so it can get past hanging on the graphics.

To delete the files, boot into single user mode with boot flag: -s

When the text stops at the "root:" prompt,

Type:  mount -uw /
Type:  cd /System/Library/Extensions
Type:  mkdir Intel_back
Type:  mv AppleIntelF* AppleIntelHD* Intel_back/
Type:  touch ../Extensions

Then reboot

Think about it a minute...a DVD is a read-only device.  You can't unlock the device and write data to it.

Look, in posting #7 above, you posted a picture.  The picture indicates that you may be booted but hanging on graphics.  In that picture, did you boot the OSX installation or did you boot the DVD?  What boot flags did you use to get that picture?  We need to be working on getting the OSX installation to boot but without graphics support.

You have a bunch of text off the left side of the monitor that you can't see.  You are booted into single-user mode, but you can't see the "root:" prompt because it is far to the left.  Likewise, when you type, it is displaying far to the left of what you see on the monitor.  If you type something like 12 spaces, then the cursor should appear on the screen.

Let's try to modify the video display so you can see the rest of the text.  Boot your hard drive installation using the following boot flags and include the quotation marks as given:

-s "Graphics Mode"="1280x960x32"

Typically, laptops have PS/2 keyboards and trackpads.  You need to install the PS/2 drivers when you install OSX.  What distro are you using?  Depending upon the distro, you may be able to go back and add drivers without totally reinstalling.  Or, maybe you have an external USB keyboard and mouse that you can plug in.

I think you need to reinstall.  Niresh does some weird things with his installer, so I can't tell whether you can go back and install a single driver.

Select to install PS/2 and NullCPUPowerManagement kext

Under Graphics, there is an item for Intel HD Graphics.  You might try installing that.  Also, there is an item to remove graphics kexts.  If selecting Intel HD Graphics doesn't work, then you might try to reinstall again and select to remove graphics kexts.  That is what we were trying to do in single-user mode.  You can select to do this first if you wish.

Go ahead and select FakeSMC.  I believe that his installer already installs it, but just to be sure, select it for installation.  The warning has to do with FakeSMC "plugins".  Don't select any FakeSMC plugins.
