3.14r2 Posted October 13, 2013 Share Posted October 13, 2013 AFAIK OS X (as well as Windows 7 and up) automatically enable TRIM if a SSD is used. You can check whenever your SSD is recognised as SSD (Solid State) or as HDD (Rotational) in System Profiler/System Information Serial-ATA section > Medium Type. rainbowmac Posted October 13, 2013 Author Share Posted October 13, 2013 Chameleon bootloader does not provide any means to turn TRIM on or off and Mac OS X does not enable TRIM by default on all SSD (it certainly is not on my Samsung PM830 SSD). Check if TRIM Support is available and set to Yes or No in System Report->SATA. If it's available but set to No, use a tool such as Chameleon SSD optimizer to turn it on. Remember that you would probably have to re-enable TRIM after every update.
