Hi

I'm running 10.6.8 on an AMD machine (FX-8350) and I've added the Device-ID to the kext and when I boot I get a "PowerPlayManager is malformed" message and "Make sure your Kext is built for the correct headers".

I've been at it for two days on the GFX Card alone. Can someone help me out here? I boot with

-v GraphicsEnabler=No arch=i386

I've tried using AtiConfig=Vervet but it doesn't help the situation at all.

I'd love any help at all! Thanks

My God, I did not seriously leave that information out... XFX Radeon HD 6750

I managed to boot in 1920x1080 using the org.chameleon.boot.plist
Looks phenomenal, but it's a little laggy sometimes. I've also changed my boot flags since the time of this post.

Got rid of the kexts and put vanilla ones in. Now the message has disappeared but I re-added the device ID and ended up getting a black screen. Removed Device-ID, still black screen.. Removed ATI6000Controller and I can see again.

Getting lost here.

I think I have, but just to be sure, tell me how I can do that please?

I've tried multiple different flags and I've read many different guides. I even read one that said I don't even need the ATI6000Controller kext.. I think it was kinda >_> BS though..

I've read that it needs to be booted with /mach_kernel and I've seen other posts that don't even specify. I can get my chameleon bootloader screen to say "XFX Radeon HD 6750" and somewhere it will say "Loading Personality: Vervet"

Then we get to the verbose booting and then the GUI state... This part is always a black screen.

Just try connecting 2 dvi monitors to both outputs in your card someone wrote about ati needed to get edid information on both ports to run. Or you should try kext from i cant remember name but smthng similar to nebraska. Also in truth i already had an ati5770 and tried to make it work but got blackscreen and giving up i tried my old old old 8600gs which ended in success. Also note that opencl implementation is incomplete and inefficient in 10.6. You should try installing at least osx v 10.7

Got myself an ATY_Init kext and it seems to have worked... But the ATI6000 controller kext is malformed- using the ATI5000 Controller kext. The 6750 HD was apparently a re-model of the 5750 HD. Or so I've read... Here goes nothing.

-- Result --

Malformed and stuck on boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=Vervet

I get stuck at the VERY end of the booting process which for me is something like "hfs: zero length symlink on fileid" followed by about... 8 numbers.
...
Get the same message with "GraphicsEnabler=No" but it boots.
With "=yes", I get the message but it keeps repeating and never progresses into User Land.
