Earthworm
I have noticed that my machine isn't up to speed, I recently migrated from Win7 to Mountain Lion. I have used the same PC with OSX86 (10.4) in the past without problems, however I have added more memory and a difference graphics card since. My setup is as follows: Motherboard: GA-P35-DS3P Processor: Q6600 @ 2.4 Memory: 8GB (4x2) Corsair XMS2 PC8500 (C5) @ 1066mhz Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 (Vapor X) Sound Card: Edirol FA-66 (firewire) Here is my Geekbench output: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/2300094 The one thing I have done which I need to change is that I have installed onto a 5400rpm drive. Earthworm
I rebooted without doing any changes and ran Geekbench again scoring 5733. Everything feels a lot more snappy, but I wonder what is causing the machine to get so bogged down after some activities like downloading a game on steam or extracting a large archive? Any thoughts? http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/2300248 Edit: I added the 'cpus=4' value to my boot.plist. Pretty much same result http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/2300394
