Hi,

I'm about to start modding a Mac Pro, late 2008 I think and I was just wondering does anyone make front panel cables like they do for the G5? as I am a big fan of out-sourcing work.

I was planning to just use something like this but since the case I got is in immaculate condition I'm planning to only make a cut for rear I/o

Thanks,

Not that I am aware of - however, I know someone who recently did a MacPro mod and if he doesnt know, then he might know someone who does. Message WhatTheTech for some guidance.

I did intend to be doing a front io mod and got a fair way along with it earlier in the year as part of a Laser Hive project, but it was looking not very user friendly so I shelved it for when I got a bit more time. I am though now looking at it again, so if it does get beyond the prototype stage I'll be sure to post about it on here.

My approach this time around is to try and create something that is easy to fit (that's where the last attempt sucked) as well as functional and looking nice - so I'm also looking at how much a kit incorporating an anodised front plate that matches the G5/Pro would cost to make - and in fact the latest version I am testing now is based around using the Lian Li panel linked in the first post(!).

Hope I'll have something more to say about this soon....
