clickclickw00t
I want to make a hackintosh that works with Mavericks, and I want it to be comparable to my Macbook Pro Late 2011. I have an amazing Lian Li case, 128GB SSD, 5TB of HDDs, a very nice power supply, DVD burner, and all that. I have about $800 to spend on a board, cpu, ram, gpu, and maybe ethernet/bluetooth cards. Can someone recommend some good hardware for this system? I'm not on the up-and-up on Hackintosh and compatibility, although I have installed it before on my current setup, although a lot of things just didnt work: ethernet, graphics accel, etc. Thanks! All Kand
An Nvidia GPU with a GT (not GTX) will do for you (they are not expensive and generally well supported) Ethernet? Look for a Realtek-based board (They aren't sold as Realtek but under another brand e.g. TP-LINK but are essentially repackaged Realtek cards) Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge cpu. Even Arrandale/Clarkdale (first gen iX) is fine, just ensure your motherboard doesn't use the Intel HD Graphics but your discrete GPU) I'm not sure about Motherboards, sorry... Please look on the forums here RAM (4 or 8 GB, best is that their speeds mHz is equal) As I am more into Hackintosh laptops I have no clue about a desktop bluetooth card/wifi card. What you can try is to dig up some hardware details about the recent Mac Pros/Mac Minis/ iMacs)

TaDem
@dcai777 the mob and cpu is very old, i think it is from 3-4 years ago, but the rest of the build is GOLD! clicklickw00t replace them with a newer haswell cpu, like an i5 or i7, and a haswell motherboard, look for a z87 chipset gigabyte as they are supported out of the box. i would recommened i7-4770k cpu and gz-z87x-ud4h, even thou it would hit your wallet at a 980$ http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-4770K-Quad-Core-Processor-BX80646I74770K/dp/B00CO8TBQ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380881076&sr=8-1&keywords=i7+4770k http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128617
dcai777
@TaDem You're right, i guess... the mobo is bad, but the cpu os still ok ish since it has 12MB l2 cache anyway, new build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1KVuH i5 4670k, Gigabyte z87 mobo and everything else still the same for even less money(789.99) or for a better gtx 760 at $798.62: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1KVzO either way, no i7 yet...
