mitch_de
Hi, for about 6 months barefeat uses (beside LUXMARK OpenCL) OctaneRender , which is CUDA(Nvidia) only as benchmark. You need: 1. CUDA drivers (works also on 10.9 DP6 for me!) installed (no restart needed ) http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html 2. The Octane Renderer Demo (works for me also with 10.9) http://render.otoy.com/downloads.php (Mac Version) 3. Octane Demo scene files http://render.otoy.com/downloads/OctaneRender_1_20_DemoSuite.zip To compare to barefeats results (lots since 6 Months on his site) http://www.barefeats.com/gpu680v7.html use the demoscene RenderTarget PT My GT 440 needs 15:52 Min:Sec for that scene. GTX 680 (barefeat) needs only 3:09 !!! Low End CUDA gpus may not work (not enough gpu features) like NVidia 8/9xxxx or GT 2xx. CPU doesnt matter much (low cpu load). Results: GTX Titan (oc'ed @1132 Mhz): 1:17 minutes !! GTX 780 1:22 / 1:29 (SC) / 1:40 Min GTX 580 OC : 2:35 min GTX 680 PHANTOM 4GB 2:53 GTX 680 (barefeat) 3:09 min GTX 560 ti 4:05 Min GTX 550 ti 7:56 min GT 640 1Gb DDR-3 - 13:05 min. GT 440 : 16 Min GT 430 : 21 Min PS: Octane cuda renderer renders gpu only. So you cant compare cpu vs gpu. To see what gpus can do, i run luxmark sala scene GT 440 vs CPU C2D. Even midrange GT 440 only is 20 times faster in that OpenCL raytraycing bench as C2D only. So also Octane CUDA (which didn't have an cpu only feature) will benefit in same range of the gpu speed. If Octane crashes on start CUDA is missed! Open Demoscene and render the RenderTarget PT part. Be patient
