Multiboot Win 7 & ML

Hi Guys,

I have just built a pc for my son.

Spec is GA-Z77-DS3H V1.1 bios v9, i5 3450, 8G ram, sata3 1T drive. At the moment I am using the onboard graphics card but will install a GTX660 later.

I am follwing this guide:

http://www.osx86.net/guides-tutorials/18027-guide-how-dual-boot-windows-7-mountain-lion-chameleon-boot-loader.html.

I am trying the Iatkos ML2 route

I get to the point were I boot into the loader and select Iatkos ML2 and then select English and enter.

Now when the next screen loads, the mouse and keyboard seem to stop functioning.

I cannot tell if they have frozen or if it is just the screen or the whole installation.

I suspect it is the keyboard and mouse.

So being stuck at this screen I cannot select Disk Utility to continue

I tried both usb and DVD install methods and the installation stops at the same point.

I have a Macbook with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 so I can create the usb or DVD installation material

Any ideas?

Al

Update,

after 2 days of trying every loader i have finally worked out why it is sticking after the select language screen.

The mouse I was using which works 100% in the bios and the Windows 7 drive on the same machine is incompatable with ML.

Tried 6 mice and 4 work and 2 of the same model don't. I found out by accident :(

There are plenty of posts reporting the mouse & keyboard sticking at the same point without a solution on the net. Simply add another make of mouse to another usb port and hey bingo it works!

Anyway I loaded Iatkos ML2 only because I was testing it when I found the issue and everything apart from audio thru the hdmi seems to be fine.

I am surprised as I thought audio, lan and graphics needed specific kexts?

I haven't installed any further drivers and the onboard graphics (hd 4000) seem to be working. How can I tell if I am getting full resolution?

Is Iatkos ML2 supposed to work with hd 4000 out of the box?

I will be installing a gtx660 in a month, so I'm not too concerned.

One nasty I came across during my trials and tribs: I have a macbook SL 10.6.8 and used chameleon 2.1 to create a ML 10.8.2 usb loader. It messed up my macbook and change the mac drive to efi. On further checking it also swapped the partition info and moved it onto the usb. I thought somehow I must have chosen the the wrong destination. After a full reinstall and a time machine restore I tried again. Exactly the same outcome. Chameleon 2.1 will cripple your real macbook if it is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Google this and found others had the same issue.

Would you recommend i install ##### now or should I leave alone since it seems to be working fine?
