Hello,

I want to install Mountain Lion on my HP Envy 4 but I need a bit of help.

I am not a "big" noob at hackintosh but I would like to now if my configuration are compatible.

Intel Core i3 3517U Cadencé à 1.90 GHz

Intel Ivy Bridge / Intel HM77

Intel HD Graphics 4000

Ralink corp. RT3290 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe

Do you think it's a good hardware for hackintosh ? And what's the best way to install OSX on it ?

Thank you for your help, and sorry if my english is not perfect I am french :)

I have the HP Envy17t-3200 CTO.  ML runs great on my laptop.  I see NO problem with your set up (except maybe your wifi card - not certain about that.)  See my installation guide:

Here's another you might want to look at:

Hello,

I follow the second guide you sent me but when I want to boot (the first boot before installation) I get some trouble :

I used myHack with Mountain Lion original InstallESD.

I tried CPUS=1, -x, -v,  CPUS=1 USBBusFix=yes ForceHPEToff=yes  but nothing works.

Any help ? Thank you :)

You're having a lapic error. Download a patched lapic kernel from here: http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=4114

And change SMBIOS defs to MacbookAir5,2 (use chameleon wizard)

Still not working

I added these lines

<key>USBBusFix</key>
<string>yes</string>
<key>EHCIacquire</key>
<string>yes</string>
<key>UHCIreset</key>
<string>yes</string>

But whatever I do it's still don't want to start installation

Get back to the old kernel, install this kext (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286860-genericusbxhci-usb-30-driver-for-os-x-with-source/), and boot with cpus=1 -f -v

Congrats :D

Now for the HDD, check your BIOS settings for SATA mode and set it to AHCI.

Are you using a custom DSDT or any other kexts?

OK, there a lot of errors here.

Graphics, Sound, and USB are failing to start. SMC is also complaining about something.

I'd recommend you try starting the system in safe mode (-f -x) then if it boots we can start addressing the issues one by one.

Try that and tell me how it goes.

PS. As soon as you boot, extract and upload your DSDT.
