I am going back into Hackintosh my Nvidia card died and now using Intel HD of my CPU

Before wiping everything to make a GPT partition does anyone know if the Intel HD of this CPU works on ML at leats on a basic form? (I know full support is for HD3000 and up)

Thanks

Thanks to both, I  hope to get a new GPU in the next month.

Will a Radeon HD 5450 or 6450 be fine in this setup? (specially for a future Mavericks) I've searched but found mixed responses (some say VGA won't work (my monitor is it) other says no QE CI, others say after modding some kext, and others say it's fine altogether so I am confused!.

Many thanks again, I will buy the 5450 then and take note when Mavericks final is released. Meanwhile I've installed ML with the HD 2000 and as expected no QE/CI and 1024x768 only but the performance is surprising good despite some animation as the notification center and Safari home page are bugged out and shows artifacts.

One question, does the video card brand matter (I think it will be Asus or Powercolor)?

The brand doesn't matter because the chipset of the cards are the same. In the meanwhile if you want to use your resolution, look at this: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/05/enable-intel-hd-2000-graphics-on-your.html

Many thanks, my OS X doesn't boot with Chameleon  from the tutorial. It gets stuck at Waiting for DSMOS and some Bluetooth line... The keyboard lights work so the computer isn't frozen... The only way to boot it is to use my USB install disk and -x!

EDIT: after waiting a minute I get KP saying CPU 1 has no HPET assigned

For the kernel panic you maybe need to set HPET 64 bit in bios or you can try use the attached kext. The reason why you need to boot with -x is probably because the graphics. Boot with -x and delete all the graphics kext and see if it works.

Many thanks, finally solved the KP :)

I've followed the tutorial but I can't make it boot without -x and the resolution is still stuck at 1024x768 when using it.

Without -x the computer freezes at boot screen. However the HD light is blinking seeming the system is working.

Help!

EDIT: *Sigh* According to this Wikipedia table, I have "Intel HD" and not Intel "HD 2000" which it's only on some Core i3, i5 and i7.

No wonder why the HD 2000 patch doesn't work. I have to live with a distorted screen and safe mode until I get the HD5450.

Thanks again. Followed that tutorial even when it's for Laptops with Arrandale CPUS but no avail...

The problem still remains. Summarizing.

It does boot OK (I can see the desktop with VNC from another computer and everything) but the monitor is showing a frozen boot screen. With -x flag the desktop is shown on the monitor but resolution is 1024x768.

I'll give up and wait for the HD5450. Thank you for your effort and help.  :)

EDIT:

I have Intel HD Graphics on my computer. Will this guide work for me?

This guide was written specifically for users that have a 2010 Intel Core i Series processor (Core i3, Core i5, Core i7) with Intel HD Graphics or a 2010 Intel Pentium processor with Intel HD Graphics. They are part of the Arrandale CPU family.

Device ID: 0042 or 0046

Vendor ID: 8086

If you have a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge processor, it is not supported here.

Yes you have to whait for the GPU in that case sorry

Is there at least a way to make this thing boot directly without the USB disk?

I can't boot directly because the desktop won't appear on screen but ML boots fine. I've deleted all IntelHD kexts without avail and tried various bootloaders as well as rebuilding cache. The only way to get to ML is via the USB setup disk and in safe mode.

Thanks.

FIXED, I can boot directly and native resolution

For the resolution using Chameleon Wizard and setting the correct boot resolution (1366x768)

And deleting ALL Intel graphics kexts not only the HD ones as I did before, but those from GMA as well.

But it's still VERY buggy specially on Safari which makes some nasty FLICKERING on some sites and the top sites page. Also some animations like the notification center make funny red artifacts. And obviously no QE CI but I assume that's impossible here.

Is there at least something to do with that disgusting Safari flickering? it's driving me nuts.
