I have a Java, aperture update, security update, xcode update, and airport utility and itunes, is it safe to update?

 

Im on ML 10.8.4

No it's not safe.

 

I recommend keeping 10.8.4 until 10.8.5 is out of beta status.

OR use Disk Utility, make a backup of your partition, and then you can hack away at 10.8.5+

ummm maybe you dont understand. or i dont.  Im on 10.8.4 right now and im not having any problems I jus have those specific updates for 10.8.4 , says nothing about 10.8.5 update anywhere.

Oh, I thought you meant you wanted to update OS X and you HAD those apps. lol

Sorry.

 

I would only run those updates if the apps do not work properly.

If the app is not broken, don't run the update UNLESS the update has something you really need or want.

iTunes update is safe, everything else would be only update if required, IMO.
