asapreta
Its kinda weird. I can log on iCloud and its features but can't log on iMessage. I also can't log on Twitter using the system integrated account or the its App downloaded on the Appstore. The App says it can't verify OAuth bla, bla, bla but the password is correct as I can use it on Twitter's website. I have my main ethernet connection as en0, the chamaleon option is set to Ethernet Builtin=yes, the system has the recovery partition, the nvram deamon is running, etc. I'm open to try any suggestions! TheEnthusiast
I've had this issue as well. One way in which I resolved it was to update payment information for my Appleid. Another way is to change the password of your Appleid. However, before all of that, ensure that ethernet is indeed en0, reboot, and try logging in. If that doesn't work, navigate to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration, then delete all of the files, add your network devices in System Preferences with Ethernet as en0, etc. Then, do a reboot for safe measure. If it doesn't work, you can try my first two suggestions. Lastly, it could be UUID/serial number related, but changing these values have worked for some and have not for others.

I have updated my payment method for my AppleID with no luck. Can try the password change. As my en0 is correct I may try to change the UUID, as the serial I've just changed on SMBIOS.plist file. Thanks for the answer.
TheEnthusiast
Specify a custom UUID as the one of your boot volume.

TheEnthusiast
You'll resolve it eventually, like everyone else did. Clean install etc.
asapreta
Yes, also its not a big deal at this time as it isn't the final version of the system. I'm trying it just to be ready. This is a clean install. I did it after two DP4 update failures. Now I'm focusing solving this problem. I noticed I can't get my hardware UUID changed. Every time I check it is the same (on System Profiler) and I've specified a different one on com.apple.boot.plist with <key>SystemId</key> <string>my new id</string> or on smbios.plist as: <key>SMsystemid</key> <string>my new id</string> But it was a no go. Also I noticed this on the verbose boot: Jul 28 21:23:02 localhost kernel[0]: Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict> No UUID for the Hard Drive? TheEnthusiast
Try this command then set it as custom system ID. Are you sure that it the correct key, bearing in mind that it is case sensitive. > ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep \"system-id
asapreta
Thanks again for your help. On the system profiler I have this Hardware ID: Hardware UUID: 25C52043-05DA-5CD0-A2B0-746F8C32A93B The output of the command you mentioned: Last login: Sun Jul 28 22:03:01 on console Mac-Pro:~ asapreta$ ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep \"system-id | | "system-id" = <0000000000000000000000241d204885> Mac-Pro:~ asapreta$ Strange, hum? EDIT: I just managed to get it changed to the same but still a no go. I looked at the log and got some messages about the login process on my AppleID, like this: 7/28/13 23:48:44,092 identityservicesd[241]: [Warning] Registration failed for Registration info (0x7fd32972a4e0): [Registered: NO] [Type: AppleID] [Device Name: (null)] [Service Type: com.apple.private.alloy.maps] [Env: (null)] [Main ID: my_email@email.com] [Phone Number: my_email@email.com] [AppleID: my_email@email.com] [UserID: E:my_email@email.com] [C2K: NO] [Push Token: <97b2731e 1b68eb71 157fff44 4df0ded0 66970fe8 3cb36163 344334a7 0eb941a3>] [Region ID: R:US] [Base Number: +14258828080] [URIs: (null)] [Candidates: (null)] [Auth Cert: 0x0] [Reg Cert: 0x0] [Profile ID: D:1343188978] [Auth Token: <V1MHKWbc71614381eabc6a6e16c915...>] [Auth User ID: (null)] [Heartbeat Date: (null)] (Error: 18)
TheEnthusiast
It seems as if you have one of those zero system id's given by some manufacturers. I haven't had this issue so I'm not sure what to do...

ameris_cyning
Similar issue, except mine was with Gmail and Twitter. The only solution that I found was wipe and reinstall. Its not always the best solution, but I had no idea where it was coming from.

HBP
your system ID isn't the issue, it's your 17 digit CPU ID, your using chameleon which means that you need to define MBL 17 digits long as stated in post # 15 here. your issue was not unique, I had the same one, but I use clover, changed the cpuid to 17 digits long and everything worked great. in clover the item is called: <key>BoardSerialNumber</key> <string>C02032101R5DC771H</string> I don't know what the equivalent chameleon string is, but without it being set you will not have working imessages or other programs that rely on that identifier. PS, that information was taken from http://sourceforge.net/p/cloverefiboot/wiki/config.plist/ HBP
