jontah
Hi!I just built my first Hackintosh, it's like 2 weeks old and I haven't used it for a week or so. Everything worked great for a week or so, but then it started to act really strange. For example when starting up my OSX it gets stuck on the loading screen, loading for an eternity without anything happening. After force shutting down the computer using the powerbutton 2 times it starts to work, but not without problem: when the mouse loading pointer appears it gets stuck on that, whenever there's a resize corner or something, the mouse pointer gets stuck on that - I mean that icon gets stuck on the mouse pointer, until I reboot again. Also now when I'm writing this article I'm not able to press enter sometimes, it gets stuck on the same place, and acts very strangely. Sometimes it even throws the words around and inserts enter here and there (actually it was a real struggle to type this thread you're reading right here, on my computer).Another thing that I noticed now when I started my machine and force shutted it down twice and then got into OSX was that my safari got stuck on opening halfway, but I could still use it, but it was 50% transparent and not even full size. Really weird things happening.Menues icons, windows, everything seems to get stuck, even apps and programs. The only solution is to shut it down and start it up several times. Each time I start it up it gets a little bit further, until it's full scale. Bootloader? I have no idea Kexts are set as in this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/64346-great-success-yo-mangs-hack-pro-3930k-gtx670-sabertooth-x79-56k-warn-21.html it's almost exactly the same hackintosh Thank you for the reply! UrbanBard
You won't receive technical advice here. You need to return to where you built your hack. Look in the Forums at Post Installation. There are two reasons you should: the people at the site you used know their system better; you are their responsibility. Let them help you. Using their search engine, look for a successful build using your hardware. Follow the guide. You are welcome here, if you want to learn about Chameleon or Clover. I suspect you're too new to know what those are, yet. Stick around and learn, but don't expect anyone to fix another site's problems. No offence intended. The other reason is that the owners of InsanelyMac have a major dislike going on with the owners of the site you used; so much so that they don't even want the other site's name or their products mentioned. I'm neutral, myself. Neither has gotten me angry. I started my hack over there and will remain on their bootloader until Apple releases OS X 10.8.5. I have a smoothly running hackintosh and have no intention to screw it up. I'll bulid a Chameleon system, soon enough, on another disk. Eventually, I'll learn Clover. So, why am I here? I'm here to learn. The other site dumbs things down too much for me. But, you're new enough, that you might want some dumbing down. You just want the computer to work, right? Not know the details of why it does. True?

Not know the details of why it does. True? Well, you know, I was just referring to those kexts, nothing else - as I'm extremely new to this. It's my first hackintosh after all.. It's not like I'm a major fan of tonymacx86.. and I'm not here to start some kind of "conflict" war between the sites. And I understand you guys have dislikes between you. I just want to solve my problem and get my machine to work, yes. This is quite annoying.

Hangten
Jontah, use the the search feature and start by learning about the "Bootloaders" "Sabertooth x79" One step at a time Tip: boot in Safe Mode can sometimes help a lot -x so you can configure your install

But why would I need a bootloader when I only got mac installed on my Hackintosh? I don't even have windows installed. I've searched alot about this problem and fixes and I've tried freeze fix apps that seems to be the way people normally solve this problem.. but it doesn't work for me. Still it gets stuck on several things, sometimes on the starting up of the computer (it just hung up when starting it and I had to reboot it twice). -x doesn't really help because I need to find a solution for my problem, can anyone here please help me? I'm looking for urgent help of my problem, can't stand this anymore. Thanks.

john_s
Have you tried booting with "cpus=1" ? If This fixes most of your problems then try installing this kext http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3621&act=down&actionhash=1376641644-09879348debfdc25e44f7f3a705df1a4b512e2cf

But not much. The problem was this: darkwake=0 npci=0x2000 CPUS=1 Darkwake=0 wasn't there at all. CPUS=1 wasn't there and npci=0x3000 was the original value (btw does this matter if I change it to 2000 instead of 3000?) Answers are highely appreciated!
