EVGA GTX 780 ACX Will not work! UGH! @#$!@

Hi,

I have an Asus Z68 Deluxe with Mt Lion 10.8.4 and all was fine with my GTX 480's. I had a gfx string using chameleon 2.2 2254. I could login with out issues.

So I upgraded with a EVGA GTX 780 ACX and at boot up all I get is a blank grey screen. Sometimes the hard drive light flashes so I'm thinking the driver is

trying to initialize the wrong adapter as the main display as the card has two dvi ports, 1 hdmi, and one dp. I tried all ports except dp without luck. Need dp cable.

Not sure if that will work. Disabled onboard gpu also. I even tried boot flags such as graphicsenabler = no and getting rid of my gfx string. Nothing works.

Setup as an iMac 12,2. Will post my plist files shortly.

Thank you.

I tried to install the nvidia web driver package once and got an error message that said not supported on this system. Is that cause my smbios is set to iMac 12,2? Also thought you didn't need those drivers on 10.8.4?

Thanks !

Guess that driver did the trick. Had to change my system smbios to a Mac Pro 3.1 for the Nvidia drivers to work correctly. Working now.

Thanks.

To all Intel raid dual booters the Chameleon 2.1 2064 version works just fine with the 780GTX and allows you to run your raid array on the side. I mean you won't have to switch to AHCI mode in bios as in the Chameleon 2.2 2254 version needs to boot though your raid array of course is not readable in either case but you won't have to do a bios setting change to get into Lion. Thanks.
