I keep getting a deadbeef when I boot the laptop with USB. I am trying iAtkos and it just boots straight into windows.

 

Not sure what to do, I can follow instructions and did it with my XPS 1340 but not sure how to proceed.

Alright, Samsung owner here too. Basically, this needs to be resolved in the bios. Also, I recommend not using a distro, just buy the software and use myHack, or [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]. Alright so the steps to get your install booting into mac are:

 

F10 (?) to get into setup

Advanced -

Fast BIOS Mode - Disabled

AHCI Mode Control - Manual

------>Set AHCI Mode - Enabled

USB S3 Wake-Up - Disabled

 

Boot -

Secure Boot - Disabled

OS Mode Selection - UEFI and Legacy OS

I don't have these options and I did the other stuff before, and it wouldn't boot.

I'm also on the latest firmware (15FD)

I turned off Samsung fast boot in easy settings, but I don't see a secure boot option anywhere.

 

Fast BIOS Mode - Disabled

Secure Boot - Disabled

Since its on a W7 computer, I used iAtkos ML2 to try to boot it.

 

It worked twice, but the odd thing was while it was loading, both times it went into windows. It resumed windows.

 

Now it won't boot at all, it goes to x0 deadbeef 732!

 

What am I doing wrong?

Do you have 8G SSD in your lappy?

Have you set bios to Ahci?

On wich interface had you your hardrive, on which you have tried to install, connected?

 

You should buy, as before suggested in the App Store and learn to install it for example in this way: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners/?hl=%20guide%20%20for%20%20beginners

 

If you hope, to get full support by doing an IATKOS Install, so you have certainly asked for this on the wrong platform!

 

Here you can learn something about OSX and certainly not much about installing Distros. If you are too lazy to learn something, then buy a real MAC. ;)

Yes its called an ExpressCache and I think its part of my 1TB HDD, because when I opened it I couldn't find it. I also have it set to AHCI. I don't know what you mean by interface, but the HDD is partitioned with an MBR and I have not tried other HDDs because I don't have any more.

 

I used the regular way before, but since it was a MBR I read that I should use iAtkos because it was made for dual booting with MBR rather than gparted, which would require me to wipe the entire HDD. It also didn't work, and I used iAtkos because another guide installing it on a Samsung and it seemed to work better than the other method. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275925-samsung-chronos-7-np700-z5a-successful-install-procedure-we-have-audio/

I have no idea why it suddenly stopped working, but I wiped iAtkos after that and tried using the regular way.

 

I set all sorts of boot flags, but it still boots back right into windows. After iAtkos stopped working I went to an old lion laptop I use and tried using it from the regular OSX disc, and added these files http://www.osx86.net/view/2815-osinstallmbr+osinstall.mpkg_10.8.gm.html

 

It still did the same thing, although it now boots from the USB drive.

Ok I tried that guide, and it simply didn't work. I don't think windows computers can boot from GUID, so I wonder why it tells you to format it in GUID.

You can format your disk with MBR and you should try to remove the 8GB express cache during install. It is a msata card in a PCIe minislot.

 

If you want to install on MBR you have to patch your install device depending on the version of OSX 10 8.x. You can find it here:

For version 10 8.0 - 8.2 you can use the attached patch. A short Howto is attachted to.

Ok I'll look for it again. It sucks, I can't find a disassembly video for this specific model, I found it for another one for anyone else looking 

It shows it at 5:37.

 

What I meant by MBR is that I don't think that computers made for PC/Win can boot from gpart, unless its just this one or my laptop is being strange. I haven't been able to get it to boot from a gparted disk.

 

I'll post back in a little bit, do have have any idea why it boots back to Windows? I found that very strange. It would finish booting then go right back to resuming windows or something.

Please backup the files, that you need, from your Win7 install at first, if you have something, you want to keep.

 

Fore being able to give you more support, I have some questions:

 

When you open diskmanger in Win7, can you see an 8 GB  SSD harddisk?

 

How shows the 8 GB SSD in Win7 device manager up?

 

Have you a Win7 install with enabled UEFI?

 

Can you switch Bios in Legacy mode?

 

Do you have an install medium for Win7?

 

Can you disable secure boot in bios?

 

Which options to boot from devices do you have?

 

 

Can you please upload photos of bios menu vga with setting options and for the AHCI section too?

Yes I am able to see the SSD. It shows up as a separate hard drive it is formatted to HFS, and has about 7.4GB usable. 

 

I don't know if its UEFI enabled, but I assume if it is on by default it should be.

 

 

My bios has the ability to boot in legacy mode, and I have a DVD for home premium somewhere.

 

I cannot disable secure boot in bios. I do not have this option. I can boot from DVD, network, FDD, etc, standard fare for newer BIOS.

For anyone doing the Osinstall.mpkg for windows the version is located in System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

 

Ok this sucks. I just watched another video for getting rid of the 8GB iSSD and it doesn't show up. 

It is never mentioned and even taken apart I cannot see it.

 

I know its connected separately, because it still shows in the BIOS when I remove the hard drive, just can't find it. :(

 

I also tried this ML installer on another hackintosh that has a working partition. I changed the files in Extra, but it still booted to a black screen. There must be something I'm doing wrong.

Leave your  8GB SSD, where it is. I have seen that you have set the option for AHCI the right way. Therefore, I am certain, it does not disturb.

 

If you not have a working OSX , should be Lion and upwards, go to www.vmware.com and download the newest VMware- player and the with it related extra files. Install the Player ant extra -files on Win7. Search fore an 10.8(any built) VM-ware image. Make in the VM ware player an dynamic expandable disc with about 5.0 GB, I do it not exactly how this works, but you can find it in the manual.

 

Back up your Win7 files you need and keep it save. During install you have to reformat the disk. For later on it is an good idea to get an external drive with usb3/e-sata III enclouser, as big as possible. It should be not very expensive.

 

You should get an App Store 10 8.x app.

 

I want to see the all menu of your advanced options in Your bios. Can you please shoot some pics?

 

Just only one question: Under windows devicemanager/graphics/... is der a HD3000?

I was using my friend's Mac, I already have OSX on another laptop. I changed the AHCI but it doesn't work still, it does the same thing.

 

Are you sure I need to reformat my computer? Is that why it isn't booting? I can try with an external, but I don't think thats why its not booting. I don't currently have enough space to backup all my stuff, but I'll look.

You have told me, that you have formatted your disk in GPT. If you want, you can try to use Clover. I think, that this is compex and hard to do. The best way to do this, is  for now to format and partion the HD  as MBR. In tihs way I can guide you a little.

I don'1 know, which garbage you have installed with your distro. Trying to repair your install, seems to me being useless. Beginning with 10.6  and ending on 10.8 I have never,  as many others here, installed a distro. Distros are not complete supported here. Therefore you do better, to ask for problems with your distro install on an other place. Nevertheless I can  try to help you, doing, as I have told you before, a vanilla install beginning from start.

We've been over this before. I am not trying to repair an installation. I am using the vanilla boot since post 7, which also does not work. All of them stop booting suddenly and goes to a black screen, and when Windows was installed, it tried to go to Windows.

 

I have remade the vanilla flash drive at least 3x, and it simply does not work. iAtkos stopped at the same place roughly, I was looking up boot loops and I really don't know what causes it as whatever shows in verbose mode just goes away.

How do I upload a video? Unfortunately it does the same thing. :(
