suggestions for cheap backup mac?

I'd like to build an as cheap as possible mackintosh, sub 200$ ideally (without the disks), whose sole purpose will be to hold several raid1 backup disks accessed through gigabit ethernet.

 

No need for any other bells and whistles, just blazing fast mac-to-hackingtosh file copy through gigabit ethernet.

 

What hardware would you suggest?

If you don't mind buying some used PC parts, then these might be an option:

  • G41/31 chipset MB (Asrock G41M-GS3 for instance it has DDR3 RAM slots)
  • Used Core 2 Duo CPU (ebay or something)
  • 4-8GB RAM
  • G210 VGA

Plus PCI RAID card...
